This is definately a learning experience. I packed a bag of food to take to work with me but still found I was very hungry. I noticed that I didn't have any protein until lunch. That was part of it. I made sure to include hard boiled eggs and cheese in my bag for today.
I think it is also a mind game. I am in the habit of eating all the time, whatever I wanted so now that I being more controlled I feel deprived, maybe my brain reads that as hunger.
I drank tons of water yesterday but still always felt thirsty. Probably just another adjustment that my body is going through. However I did bring a big container of ice tea to make drinking all that liquid more enjoyable.
I exercised for 20 minutes in the morning and took a 10 minute in the afteroon. Baby steps, but at least I am moving. It is okay to take it slow!
Everyday I learn something new, soon this will become my new (healthy) habit!
I walked for 30 minutes and then 20 minutes on my Bowflex and worked in my yard.
I ate whole grain wheat cereal, lots of water, ice tea with sweetener, a PB & J sandwich, and whoe wheat english muffin pizzas with lots of veggies.
I cut up lots of veggies and fruits to take to work with me tomorrow. I have planned my meals. I have made a good start.
I did not drink a soda at all, do not have a headache and am going to bed an hour earlier than normal.
I am off and running!
I ate oatmeal, apple, PB & J, lots of water, rode my exercycle for 20 minutes...then things went down hill.
For dinner I had a grilled pork chop, mash potatoes and corn on the cob. For the corn I used an olive oli based margerine but the potatos had real butter in them.
Getting of the caffine sodas is hard. I got such a headache from going without caffine all day I finally broke down and had a 12 ox can of soda - leaded as I like to say (not diet).
I then ate some cookied.
Tomorrow I go grocery shopping and buy the heart healthy foods I need for the week.
Tomorrow is another day.
