Devil May Cry 4
Capcom
PC, PS3, Xbox 360Adding a new twist to everyone's old favorite story of good vs. evil, DMC4 puts gamers in a gothic supernatural world to play as the new leading man, Nero. Controls have been reworked to make it easier to launch deadly non-stop combos (can anyone say chain?), and the new "Devil Bringer" kicks ass. Capcom has dramatically improved graphics for the next-gen platforms, and this baby runs at 60 frames per second. New weapons should pique your interest, and the combination of guns and swordplay makes it fun to dispense death. The combo system has huge variations, not like the button mashing of the past, and there are three different levels for each attack.
Turok
Disney Interactive
PS3, Xbox 360An all-star cast (Timothy Olyphant, Powers Boothe, Ron Perlman, William Fichtner and Donnie Wahlberg) and an M for Mature rating tell you that Disney Interactive is serious about this sci-fi first-person shooter that's got a strong storyline. Play as Joseph Turok, a former black ops commando who is now part of an elite special forces squad called Whiskey Company. You're shot down over a rebel planet where you’ve got to find your men and fight off ravenous dinosaurs and a somewhat less hungry rebel force. This one is strictly about the survival of the fittest.
Fatal Inertia
Koei
PS3, Xbox 360Can you imagine a racing game powered by the Unreal Engine 3? It's fast, furious, futuristic and, above all, fun. Compete against 7 other players on 51 courses to see who can master the art of 22nd century racing, where death-defying drivers power gravity-defying machines. Head out of the stadium and into the wilderness (from rain forests to glaciers) and go off road at 500 mph. Load up with weapons like magnetic mines and rockets, and then let loose on the competition. There is little room for error hurtling down the trail at speeds faster than sound.
Silent Hill 5
Konami
PS3, Xbox 360Step into the desolate, fog-shrouded town of Silent Hill once again. Alex Shepherd returns home from an overseas tour of duty to find that his younger brother is missing. Explore the town and battle with hellish monsters in this nightmarish game full of suspense and gore. The combat system has been enhanced to include more offensive and defensive moves than before. Turn the lights down and the sound up and, guaranteed, at some point you'll jump like a frightened cat. You thought it couldn't get any worse, but it just did.

THQ
PS3, Xbox 360, PCAs an elite soldier in the Stray Dogs Division, it's your job to take down the Red Star Alliance in the struggle to control the last of the world's oil supply. This open-world first-person shooter combines squad-based teamwork (up to a whopping 32 players on console and 64 players on PC!) and first-person combat in a way that makes sure no two people will play the same level the same way. There are over 60 vehicles ranging from futuristic tanks and jets to remote-controlled drones and sentry guns. Upgrade your soldier through weapon choices and role specialization and kill, kill, kill!
Soulcalibur IV
Namco Bandai
PS3, Xbox 360The incredibly successful fighting game returns with classic warriors and brings new characters to the arena. Slash, kick and punch your way to glory in the quest for ultimate power. True 3D fighting is included in the step-up to next-gen systems, and new lighting methods, particle effects, camera angles and updated control systems are introduced as well. This results in the game looking great and being much easier to play. New game modes offer intense battles, a little bit of strategic conflict and the pure joy of crushing dozens of opponents with a single blow. The soul still burns!
Project Gotham Racing 4
Ubisoft
Xbox 360Bizarre Creations breathes new life into the venerable PGR series with the addition of motorcycles and a dynamic weather system. They've gone whole hog with the bikes by offering crotch rockets from Ducati, BMW and Honda. Career mode is a little deeper, but the core game play of earning style points for crazy stunts like power sliding and catching air is still there. As Kudos (style points) increase, the crowd responds to your antics more favorably. PGR On-Demand brings other driver's races to your Xbox 360 over Xbox Live so you can watch and learn. Also, check stunt stats online and see who has the longest slide in Shanghai.
Lara Croft Tomb Raider: anniversary
Eidos
Wii,PS3,Xbox360, PC, PSP, Wireless,PS2Everyone's beloved babe is turning 10 does this mean that in another 8 years she'll be legal? A homage to the original Tomb Raider, this version is specifically designed for the Nintendo Wii, which calls for some creative use of the controllers, for example to light a fire or to make a charcoal rubbing of a hieroglyph. So it's the ass, oops I mean game, that we all fell in love with years ago but with enhanced graphics and about 4 hours of puzzle-solving mini-games that let you do cool things with the Wii-mote and nunchuck.
